On 11 October 2026, the Nature Conservation Centre (DKM), in collaboration with the Ankara City Council Cycling Assembly, organised a NbS Bike Tour as part of project. The tour brought together cyclists and citizens interested in urban sustainability to explore how Ankara's streets, green spaces and public areas could become more climate-resilient.

The second activity transitioned into an eco-mobility format. It aimed to showcase larger-scale, landscape-level water retention and erosion control measures that require longer travel distances. The tour gathered 12 cycling participants at 13:00 at the TENIS Komplex parking lot on Wuppertálska Street 4 (KVP district).

How can cities better respond to both drought and extreme rainfall? Could retaining rainwater where it falls, rather than draining it away as quickly as possible, be part of the solution? On 18 September 2026, DKM organized an online webinar titled “Rethinking Water in the Climate Crisis” The webinar featured Michal Kravčík, Senior Water Management Expert and Hydrologist at People and Water, Slovakia.

On 31 July 2026, a meeting was held with Kavaklıderem Association, a local neighbourhood association in Ankara, as part of the project. The meeting provided an opportunity to introduce the project's objectives and activities, learn about the association's local environmental initiatives, and explore potential opportunities for implementing small-scale NbS in the Kavaklıdere neighbourhood.

Using green roofs as an example, this event aims to provide insights into the implementation of nature-based solutions. It was held on 21 July from 18.00 to 20.00 in the seminar room at the ufaFabrik, in the theatre hall building (Viktoriastraße 10–18, 12105 Berlin). On 14 July 2026, a stakeholder meeting was held with the Mamak Municipality Directorate of Rural Services in Ankara as part of the project. The meeting aimed to introduce the project's objectives and activities, explore the municipality's ongoing initiatives related to NbS, and identify potential opportunities for collaboration in promoting climate adaptation and biodiversity conservation.

On June 11, an educational event on community urban greenery and rainwater harvesting took place in Berlin. Using the example of greening activities carried out by residents in public spaces in Berlin’s “Graefekiez” neighborhood, the event provided insights into the collaborative implementation of small-scale nature-based solutions.

On 26 June 2026, the Co-ADAPT Nature-Based Solutions Exploration Seminar brought together participants from diverse backgrounds in Vienna to exchange ideas, explore inspiring examples, and imagine how nature-based solutions can help create healthier, more resilient cities. Through presentations, site explorations, collaborative workshops, and open discussions, the seminar created a dynamic space for learning, creativity, and collective reflection.

On 25 June 2026, the Co-ADAPT Nature-Based Solutions Exploration Seminar officially began in Vienna with an interactive workshop at WEST – Fassfabrik, a creative hub dedicated to sustainability, experimentation, and community innovation. The opening session invited participants to discover how nature-based solutions can emerge not only from scientific knowledge but also through observation, imagination, artistic expression, and collaborative design.

The first educational activity was executed as a guided walking tour focused on urban nature-based solutions (NbS). The event commenced at 16:00 in front of the Secondary Vocational School (SOŠ) on Kukučínova Street 23, serving as the initial assembly point for 15 registered participants.

On 8 May 2026, Ankara University hosted the second Co-ADAPT Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) Seminar, bringing together young participants to explore how nature can help address urban challenges. Organised by the Nature Conservation Centre (DKM) within the framework of the project, the seminar encouraged participants to develop creative, community-driven ideas for a greener and more climate-resilient Ankara. Through interactive group work and practical exercises, participants identified key urban environmental challenges and proposed small-scale nature-based solutions to improve biodiversity, rainwater management, and urban green spaces. The seminar provided a collaborative learning environment where young people could exchange perspectives, strengthen their environmental awareness, and explore their potential role in shaping more sustainable and liveable cities.

On 4 May 2026, People and Water, the Slovak partner of the Co-ADAPT Project, organised an educational seminar for high school students, highlighting the importance of engaging younger generations in climate adaptation and nature-based solutions (NbS). Held during regular school hours, the seminar introduced students to the causes and impacts of climate change, with a particular focus on the role of water in urban environments. The presentation explored how urbanisation, impermeable surfaces, and conventional rainwater drainage can disrupt the natural water cycle, contributing to rising temperatures and environmental challenges in cities.

On 30 April 2026, the first Co-ADAPT Stakeholder Seminar was held in Ankara, bringing together representatives from local authorities, academia, civil society, and citizens to explore how small-scale nature-based solutions can help cities become more resilient to climate change and biodiversity loss. The seminar was organised by the Nature Conservation Centre (DKM) as part of the project. Through interactive group activities and discussions, participants explored local environmental challenges, including urban heat islands, water scarcity, and the loss of green spaces, while developing nature-based solutions for selected urban areas. The seminar also encouraged collaboration among different stakeholders and highlighted the importance of community participation in creating greener, healthier, and more climate-resilient neighbourhoods.

The current heatwave is plaguing the whole of Europe. The worst are the cities that are experiencing hell in their thermal bubbles. Therefore, it is a great challenge for communities across Europe to mobilize to heal the climate of their cities. To this task, it is also necessary to mobilize the civil public, so that they also get involved in solving the climate protection of our common environment, in which we spend 99% of our time.

On 26 March 2026, People and Water organized a Nature-Based Solutions Exploration Seminar in Košice, Slovakia. The seminar brought together participants to explore how small-scale nature-based solutions can help cities become greener, healthier and more climate-resilient.

Terénna návšteva projektu Co-ADAPT sa úspešne uskutočnila v Berlíne v dňoch 18.–19. februára 2026 a spojila projektových partnerov s cieľom komplexnej výmeny poznatkov a priameho spoznávania prírode blízkych riešení (NbS).

Návšteva kombinovala strategické diskusie, odborné vstupy a terénne učenie s cieľom prehĺbiť porozumenie tomu, ako sa mestá môžu prispôsobovať zmene klímy a strate biodiverzity prostredníctvom integrovaných, komunitne riadených prístupov.
