A Stakeholder meeting with Mamak Municipality Directorate of Rural Services | Ankara

14. 7. 26 14:00

During the meeting, participants exchanged information on the municipality's existing practices and discussed how small-scale nature-based solutions could contribute to more sustainable and climate-resilient urban and rural environments. Particular attention was given to the potential for integrating NbS into local initiatives and strengthening cooperation between the municipality and the Co-ADAPT Project.

An important focus of the discussion was the Gökçeyurt Ecological Village Project, an initiative of Mamak Municipality. Participants explored how nature-based solutions could be incorporated into the project, considering opportunities for sustainable water management, biodiversity enhancement, ecological landscaping, and community-oriented green spaces. The discussion highlighted the potential of the ecological village to serve as a local example of environmentally responsible planning and nature-based approaches.

As a next step, participants agreed to organise a technical site visit to assess the area and identify suitable locations and opportunities for implementing small-scale NbS. The meeting marked a positive step towards strengthening cooperation with local authorities and exploring practical applications of nature-based solutions within the framework of the project.

On 14 July 2026, a stakeholder meeting was held with the Mamak Municipality Directorate of Rural Services in Ankara as part of the project. The meeting aimed to introduce the project's objectives and activities, explore the municipality's ongoing initiatives related to NbS, and identify potential opportunities for collaboration in promoting climate adaptation and biodiversity conservation.
