On 11 October 2026, the Nature Conservation Centre (DKM), in collaboration with the Ankara City Council Cycling Assembly, organised a NbS Bike Tour as part of project. The tour brought together cyclists and citizens interested in urban sustainability to explore how Ankara's streets, green spaces and public areas could become more climate-resilient.

The second activity transitioned into an eco-mobility format. It aimed to showcase larger-scale, landscape-level water retention and erosion control measures that require longer travel distances. The tour gathered 12 cycling participants at 13:00 at the TENIS Komplex parking lot on Wuppertálska Street 4 (KVP district).

How can cities better respond to both drought and extreme rainfall? Could retaining rainwater where it falls, rather than draining it away as quickly as possible, be part of the solution? On 18 September 2026, DKM organized an online webinar titled “Rethinking Water in the Climate Crisis” The webinar featured Michal Kravčík, Senior Water Management Expert and Hydrologist at People and Water, Slovakia.

On 31 July 2026, a meeting was held with Kavaklıderem Association, a local neighbourhood association in Ankara, as part of the project. The meeting provided an opportunity to introduce the project's objectives and activities, learn about the association's local environmental initiatives, and explore potential opportunities for implementing small-scale NbS in the Kavaklıdere neighbourhood.

On 14 July 2026, a stakeholder meeting was held with the Mamak Municipality Directorate of Rural Services in Ankara as part of the project. The meeting aimed to introduce the project's objectives and activities, explore the municipality's ongoing initiatives related to NbS, and identify potential opportunities for collaboration in promoting climate adaptation and biodiversity conservation.

Am 11. Juni 2026 fand in Berlin eine Informationsveranstaltung zum Thema "Gemeinschaftliches Stadtgrün und Regenwassernutzung" statt. Anhand von Begrünungsmaßnahmen, die von Anwohnerinnen und Anwohnern im öffentlichen Raum des Berliner Graefekiezes umgesetzt wurden, vermittelte die Veranstaltung Einblicke in die gemeinschaftliche Umsetzung kleinräumiger naturbasierter Lösungen.

On 26 June 2026, the Co-ADAPT Nature-Based Solutions Exploration Seminar brought together participants from diverse backgrounds in Vienna to exchange ideas, explore inspiring examples, and imagine how nature-based solutions can help create healthier, more resilient cities. Through presentations, site explorations, collaborative workshops, and open discussions, the seminar created a dynamic space for learning, creativity, and collective reflection.

Am 25. Juni 2026 begann in Wien offiziell das Co-ADAPT-Seminar zur Erkundung naturbasierter Lösungen mit einem interaktiven Workshop im WEST – Fassfabrik, einem kreativen Zentrum für Nachhaltigkeit, Experimentieren und gemeinschaftliche Innovation.
Die Auftaktveranstaltung lud die Teilnehmenden dazu ein, zu entdecken, wie naturbasierte Lösungen nicht nur auf wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen beruhen, sondern auch durch Beobachtung, Vorstellungskraft, künstlerischen Ausdruck und gemeinschaftliche Gestaltung entstehen können.

The first educational activity was executed as a guided walking tour focused on urban nature-based solutions (NbS). The event commenced at 16:00 in front of the Secondary Vocational School (SOŠ) on Kukučínova Street 23, serving as the initial assembly point for 15 registered participants.

On 8 May 2026, Ankara University hosted the second Co-ADAPT Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) Seminar, bringing together young participants to explore how nature can help address urban challenges. Organised by the Nature Conservation Centre (DKM) within the framework of the project, the seminar encouraged participants to develop creative, community-driven ideas for a greener and more climate-resilient Ankara. Through interactive group work and practical exercises, participants identified key urban environmental challenges and proposed small-scale nature-based solutions to improve biodiversity, rainwater management, and urban green spaces. The seminar provided a collaborative learning environment where young people could exchange perspectives, strengthen their environmental awareness, and explore their potential role in shaping more sustainable and liveable cities.

On 4 May 2026, People and Water, the Slovak partner of the Co-ADAPT Project, organised an educational seminar for high school students, highlighting the importance of engaging younger generations in climate adaptation and nature-based solutions (NbS). Held during regular school hours, the seminar introduced students to the causes and impacts of climate change, with a particular focus on the role of water in urban environments. The presentation explored how urbanisation, impermeable surfaces, and conventional rainwater drainage can disrupt the natural water cycle, contributing to rising temperatures and environmental challenges in cities.

Am 30. April 2026 fand in Ankara das erste Co-ADAPT-Stakeholder-Seminar statt. Die Veranstaltung brachte Vertreterinnen und Vertreter lokaler Behörden, der Wissenschaft, der Zivilgesellschaft sowie Bürgerinnen und Bürger zusammen, um gemeinsam zu erörtern, wie kleinräumige naturbasierte Lösungen dazu beitragen können, Städte widerstandsfähiger gegenüber den Folgen des Klimawandels und dem Verlust der biologischen Vielfalt zu machen.
Das Seminar wurde vom Naturschutzzentrum (Nature Conservation Centre – DKM) im Rahmen des Projekts Co-ADAPT (Community-Based Climate Adaptation and Biodiversity through Small-Scale Nature-Based Solutions) organisiert, das von der Europäischen Union über das Erasmus+-Programm kofinanziert wird.

The current heatwave is plaguing the whole of Europe. The worst are the cities that are experiencing hell in their thermal bubbles. Therefore, it is a great challenge for communities across Europe to mobilize to heal the climate of their cities. To this task, it is also necessary to mobilize the civil public, so that they also get involved in solving the climate protection of our common environment, in which we spend 99% of our time.

On 26 March 2026, People and Water organized a Nature-Based Solutions Exploration Seminar in Košice, Slovakia. The seminar brought together participants to explore how small-scale nature-based solutions can help cities become greener, healthier and more climate-resilient.

Eine Exkursion im Rahmen des Co-ADAPT-Projekts wurde am 18.–19. Februar 2026 erfolgreich in Berlin durchgeführt und brachte die Projektpartner zu einem umfassenden Wissensaustausch sowie zur Vor-Ort-Erkundung naturbasierter Lösungen (NbS) zusammen. Der Besuch kombinierte strategische Diskussionen, fachlichen Input und praxisorientiertes Lernen vor Ort, um das Verständnis dafür zu vertiefen, wie sich urbane Räume durch integrierte, gemeinschaftsgetragene Ansätze an Klimawandel und Biodiversitätsverlust anpassen können.
