This section brings together the key publications and resources developed within the Co-ADAPT project, offering practical tools, knowledge, and inspiration to support the implementation of nature-based solutions in urban communities.

Newsletters

Our newsletters provide insights into project milestones, knowledge exchange activities, and examples of how small-scale actions can create greener, cooler, and more resilient neighbourhoods. They also feature upcoming opportunities to participate in trainings, seminars, co-creation activities, and local events across the partner cities.

Whether you are a citizen, practitioner, municipality representative, educator, or simply interested in urban sustainability, the Co-ADAPT newsletters offer a way to follow the project journey and stay connected with a growing international community working for climate adaptation and biodiversity in cities.

Workshops

Workshops will take place in Berlin, Vienna, Ankara, and Košice, involving local residents, municipalities, civil society organisations, educators, and urban practitioners. Activities may include rain garden creation, micro-forest design, greening techniques, rainwater harvesting practices, urban biodiversity exploration, and collaborative mapping exercises.

The workshops aim to create accessible spaces for learning, exchange, and co-creation. By combining local knowledge with practical tools and scientific insights, participants are encouraged to develop solutions that respond to the specific environmental and social needs of their neighbourhoods.

This section will feature updates, documentation, and materials from upcoming and completed workshops throughout the project.

DIY Booklets

The DIY Booklet is a practical guide developed within the Co-ADAPT project to support citizens, communities, and local organisations in implementing small-scale, low-threshold nature-based solutions (NbS) in their neighbourhoods.

It translates scientific knowledge and project experience into accessible, step-by-step instructions, enabling users to take direct action in response to climate and biodiversity challenges. The booklet will be made available here in the later stages of the project.

Maps

Developed through participatory processes, the maps combine local knowledge, community input, and spatial analysis to support co-creation activities in Berlin, Vienna, Ankara, and Košice. They may include neighbourhood-scale assessments, workshop maps, biodiversity observations, rainwater flow analyses, green corridor proposals, and potential sites for nature-based solutions such as rain gardens, micro-forests, and community green spaces.

The Maps section aims to make local environmental information more accessible and understandable while encouraging communities to actively engage in shaping greener, more resilient neighbourhoods. New maps and visual resources developed throughout the project will be shared here.

Tutorials for NbS Walking Tours

The Tutorials for NbS Walking Tours will provide practical guidance for organising and facilitating educational walking tours focused on small-scale Nature-based Solutions in urban environments. Developed through the experiences and local activities of the Co-ADAPT project partners in Berlin, Vienna, Ankara, and Košice, these tutorials aim to support municipalities, community groups, educators, and citizens in exploring urban biodiversity, climate adaptation measures, rainwater management practices, and participatory greening initiatives at neighbourhood level. The tutorials will encourage experiential learning, community engagement, and knowledge exchange through accessible and replicable walking tour formats. The Tutorials are expected to be released in summer 2026.

Checklists for NbS Planning and Implementation

The Checklists for NbS Planning and Implementation will provide practical and user-friendly guidance for the design, planning, and implementation of small-scale Nature-based Solutions in urban areas. Developed within the framework of the Co-ADAPT project, these checklists aim to support municipalities, community groups, practitioners, and citizens in assessing local conditions, identifying suitable interventions, and considering ecological, social, and climate adaptation aspects throughout the implementation process. The checklists will help promote accessible, replicable, and locally adapted Nature-based Solutions that strengthen urban resilience and biodiversity. The Checklists are expected to be released in spring 2027.

Recommendations for Municipal Administration

The “Recommendations for Municipal Administration” will provide guidance and practical insights for local authorities on supporting and integrating small-scale Nature-based Solutions into urban planning and governance processes. Developed through the experiences and findings of the Co-ADAPT project, these recommendations aim to assist municipalities in strengthening climate adaptation, enhancing urban biodiversity, encouraging citizen participation, and improving cooperation between local administrations, communities, and other stakeholders. The recommendations will highlight transferable approaches, policy considerations, and practical measures that can support more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable urban environments. The Recommendations are expected to be released in spring 2027.

Exhibition Posters

Created through collaborative and creative processes, the posters highlight topics such as urban biodiversity, rainwater management, micro-forests, green infrastructure, community participation, and neighbourhood-based climate adaptation practices. They combine scientific knowledge, local experiences, and visual storytelling to make complex environmental challenges easier to understand and discuss.

The posters may be used during workshops, public events, exhibitions, seminars, schools, and community gatherings across Berlin, Vienna, Ankara, and Košice. This section will continue to grow throughout the project, featuring new visual materials developed during local activities and international knowledge exchange processes.
