Empowering Urban Communities
in Adapting to the Climate and Biodiversity Crisis
Nature-based Solutions are growing right in our neighborhoods.

The Four Pillars of the Project
Empowering change for sustainable cities
Building Local Networks & Partnerships
The project brings together citizens, civil society organisations, municipalities, and experts to create strong, collaborative local networks. These partnerships enable shared learning, collective action, and long-term cooperation around community-based Nature-based Solutions (NbS).
Making Nature-based Solutions Tangible
Nature-based Solutions are translated from abstract concepts into everyday practice. Through workshops, walking and cycling tours, DIY guides, and hands-on activities, participants gain practical knowledge and skills to understand, plan, and implement small-scale NbS in their own neighbourhoods.
Living Labs for Community Action
Living Labs provide real-world spaces where communities co-create, test, and implement small-scale Nature-Based Solutions. These participatory environments strengthen local ownership, support climate adaptation, and enhance urban biodiversity through learning-by-doing.
Impact Beyond Borders
Project results are shared widely through digital tools, videos, exhibitions, publications, and policy recommendations. By making knowledge accessible and transferable, the project supports replication and scaling of community-driven Nature-based Solutions across Europe.

What are Nature-based Solutions?
Building a better future through nature's own processes
Nature-based Solutions are actions that use, restore, or enhance natural ecosystems—or mimic how they function—to tackle challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, disaster risk, and human well-being. Unlike conventional “grey infrastructure” (e.g. concrete flood barriers or drainage channels), NbS rely on nature’s own processes such as water retention, cooling, carbon sequestration, soil formation, and habitat creation.
